How zolana works

zolana is a memecoin launchpad on Solana where every coin trades against ZEC, the Zcash token bridged to Solana. This page has the exact numbers.

The curve

Every coin has a fixed supply of 1,000,000,000. Mint and freeze authority are revoked at launch, so no one can make more or lock your tokens.

Two thirds of supply, 666,666,667 tokens, sells on a constant product bonding curve priced in ZEC. Each buy moves the price up along the curve and each sell moves it down.

Price rises along the curve as 666.7M tokens sell for about 5 ZEC. At the end, the pool opens at the same price.

Prices on zolana are shown per 1M tokens, so you read 0.0150 ZEC instead of 0.0000000150 ZEC.

Graduation

When the curve sells out, curve trading stops and the coin is ready to graduate. Anyone can press Graduate. It costs the caller about 0.023 SOL net.

Graduation moves the raised ZEC and the remaining 333,333,333 tokens into a full-range Meteora pool at the curve's final price. The price doesn't jump at graduation. From then on the coin trades in that pool. The protocol holds the pool position and can withdraw it.

Fees

  • 1% on every curve buy and sell.
  • 1% on trades in the Meteora pool after graduation.

All fees are paid in ZEC to the protocol treasury. Creators don't get a fee share.

Paying with SOL

You can pay in ZEC directly, or in SOL. If you pay in SOL, it's routed through Jupiter into ZEC in the same transaction as your buy. The trade panel shows the route and the minimum ZEC the swap guarantees.

Your buy spends exactly that guaranteed minimum. If the swap returns more ZEC than the minimum, the extra stays in your wallet as ZEC.

Selling works the other way: you can receive ZEC, or have the proceeds routed to SOL through Jupiter in the same transaction.

Launches

Launching is invite-only for now: only approved wallets can create coins. It opens to everyone later.

A launch takes a name, ticker, image, description and optional links, plus an optional first buy in ZEC that happens in the same transaction. Launching costs about 0.02 SOL in rent.
